While Gmail and Outlook also use a shared IP set up, Mailforge was designed for cold outreach and it’s used by businesses of all sizes - from one-man teams to Fortune 500 companies. This means you’re sharing the infrastructure with other cold outreach pros and not random senders.
When setting up with Mailforge, we will take care of your DNS settings to make sure they are set up using the best practices and optimized for email deliverability.
To increase your security and privacy we also offer SSL & Domain Masking. Those features allow you to shield your domain and increase its trustworthiness in the eyes of ESPs to further improve deliverability.
If you’re looking to scale up fast and want to leverage hundreds of domains and mailboxes, our private email infrastructure with a dedicated IP set up, Infraforge, might be a better fit. With Infraforge you have full control over the configuration, security and performance of your mailboxes.
Tim Savage and his team at Net New Solutions needed a solution to navigate the complexities of email deliverability, engagement tracking, and campaign optimization. With Mailforge & Salesforge they run over 50 campaigns. Here’s the highlights from one of them:
“The simplicity and the automation in the buying process of domains, DNS setting, inbox creation, forwarding, etc. Everything in one place. And when i had any doubts, the team trough the chat or slack solve it really quickly!
I was hesitate cause i’ve only used Google Workspace, but my results had been great since using mailforge!”
“We often hear 10x improvement as a target one among startups, when it comes to cold email infrastructure setup, Mailforge provides 100x improvement!
Procedures that usually took hours (setting DKIM, SPF, etc. records) for multiple domains, now take a few minutes. Mailforge is also cost-efficient since you spend per mailbox ~3 times less than with Gmail. The support team replies in minutes and is happy to sort out issues in a proactive manner!
Highly recommended for any organization where streamlined cold email infrastructure setup and scaling processes are needed.”
Several factors influence whether your emails reach the inbox or get filtered into spam. Authentication is crucial - ensuring your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are properly configured helps establish credibility with email providers. Your sender reputation also plays a significant role; high bounce rates, excessive spam complaints, or sudden spikes in sending volume can damage your domain’s trustworthiness.
Content quality matters as well. Emails with excessive spam trigger words, too many links, or large attachments are more likely to be flagged. List hygiene is another critical factor—sending to unverified or unengaged contacts increases bounce rates and spam complaints, which negatively impact deliverability. Lastly, sending behavior affects inbox placement. Personalizing emails, maintaining a consistent sending schedule, and gradually warming up new domains can improve engagement and help avoid spam filters.
A good deliverability rate means most of your emails successfully reach recipients’ inboxes. Generally, an inbox placement rate of 85% or higher is considered strong, while anything above 90% is excellent.
The best way to think about it is like this: shared infrastructure is like living in an apartment. You can move in right away and it’s cost effective but you have to follow certain rules. And if you or others in the building are behaving inappropriately it impacts the entire community.
However, if the residents are lovely people, the building becomes a great place to live for everyone. Shared infrastructure is a lot like that - easy to get started but you can’t always control others using it.
In contrast, private infrastructure is like living in your own house. It takes more time to build it and there’s more maintenance costs involved but it’s all yours and you have full control over it. Private infrastructure allows you to fully control and customize everything without worrying about the sending practices of others.
